Sub-Project 1

A multimedia and geospatial database system for exploring historic pulse and surfing to the future.

The objective of this sub-project is to construct a geo-spatial database which can be accessed any time and any where via internet. Geo-spatial database provide cultural and historical POIs information for blog service and POIs navigation system. In addition, database also reckon with the convenience of easily mining, correlating and analyzing, so that designed and developed a suitable metadata scheme for cultural and historical contents to descript the digital articles, images and videos which was developed by social science and humanistic scholars.

Sub-Project 2

WWW navigation and processing system with awareness of pulsation and streaming of literature and history.

The objective of this sub-project is to define the ontology reasoning rules of cultural and historical contents. Through the inference of ontology rule reasoning and calculating, we can analysis the demand and habit of users and provide information appropriate for individual and display related information on the electronic map. People can understand about the culture and history where they resided. According to reasoning by system which provides a tour of cultural and historical POIs that match users’ request. Via integrated with the personal navigation system, users can always receive the instruction about culture and history of where they have visited as an invisible historical instructor nearby.

Sub-Project 3

Historic Flow based GPS Navigation and Outdoor Instruction with Multi-Purpose Digital Map.

In this project, we want to construct a mobile navigation system base on GPS-included mobile communication devices. Besides the function of navigation, we also provide a service that was integrated with cultural and historical contents of tourist attractions to take some instruction when people on their trip. The service will arrange an educational travel with sequences of cultural and historical tourist attractions and to pilot users to visit and comprehend the tourist attractions with their value of culture and history.

Sub-Project 4

Browsing into a geo-multimedia blog village of culture, history, and heritage for scenic spots.

This project will design a Web2.0 geo-historical blog service based on Google Map service kit. Via integrated with digital map technique and interactive capability, users can experience the characteristics of cultural and historical contents by different way. People can refer the digital contents by their PC or mobile device via internet to get the needed information. The QR-code is also taken in list to conveniently access the information of tourist attractions on the web by mobile device.

Sub-Project 5,6

The Construction of Tempospatial Content over Settlements for Exploring Historic Pulse and Surfing to the Future.

These two projects were teamed up with several social science and humanistic scholars to explore the cultural and historical contents of tourist attractions. The digital contents were produced by several steps, first is to mining interesting subjects about culture and history of tourist attractions by exploring literature, books and internet. And then scholars take digital pictures, record the GPS information of attractions and collect contents by visiting the points of interesting (POIs) personally, the precious cultural and historical contents have became preserved. Finally, to describe these digital achieves by metadata scheme to store to a geo-spatial database, and the contents can be used for variety service as well.
