The old name of Yuguangli is "Three Kuns", and it is one of the seven Kuns in the Inland Sea of Taijiang River. In the Qing Dynasty, it was designated as a part of Zhongzhongli. In the early days of the Japanese occupation, Baoli was used as a part of Xiakunsha Club (zhuang) in Zhongzhongli. Under Yongningzhuang, there are big characters of Kunsha. Later, on October 1, the 11th year of Showa (1936), the Xiakunsha characters were separated from Yongningzhuang and merged into Tainan City. After World War II, the Sankunsha area was still connected with the Sikunsha, and it was designated as Kunmingli in the Southern District, and Yuguangli was established in the 43rd year of the Republic of China (1954). Later, in the sixty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1978), due to the excavation of the Xingang Road in the south of Anping Port, the Three Kuns and Four Kuns were separated, and they were independent of the southern district. In the following year (1979), they were transferred to Anping District. . The old port road in the north is landed and a road is built to connect with Anping.
